LGBTQ+ Peer Support

Creative journaling for LGBTQ+ families across the Dudley Borough

Join Ash Bainbridge (they/he), student midwife and writer for a 6 week programme of creative journaling for LGBTQ+ families from planning conception to age 2.

Dates for our first group will be:

Mondays 22 April, 29 April, 6 May and 13 May at 7pm

We will meet online via Zoom. If you have not used this before and would like to explore it with a volunteer, please let us know. You’ll receive everything you need in the post.

These sessions are for all families who feel they would benefit from being in LGBTQ+ space. You do not have to tell us why you are there, how you identify or any details about your family if you do not want to.

Children are welcome to be alongside you in the space – headphones might be helpful!

This project has been gratefully funded by Dudley Council, via Dudley CVS as part of Family Hubs work.

Neurodivergent Peer Support

The project will provide support for anyone pregnant or with a child under 2 who is either Neurodivergent themselves or has a Neurodivergent child.

Working in partnership with Autistic Parents UK, New Baby Network CIC are developing a year of peer support for families.

  • 1:1 and group peer support for ND parents
  • antenatal education
  • monthly drop in sessions (perinatal, in person/online as needed)
  • loaning of neurodivergent birth kits
We will also be offering free peer support training to any Neurodivergent people who are parents themselves.

Our first meeting will be online. This first session is for anyone who would like to learn more, whether you are pregnant, interested in training as a peer supporter or your job means you may want to refer people to the project.
